Techniques

Our Chiropractors use highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve the way your spine moves and help reduce interferences to your nervous system

The primary adjusting techniques we use include:

Diversified

This is the most commonly used of all chiropractic techniques and is the one most familiar to patients. The diversified adjustment entails a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that usually results in a cavitation of a joint (quick, shallow thrusts that cause the popping noise often associated with a chiropractic adjustment). As the name implies, the diversified technique can be used to adjust many of the joints in the body.

Applied Kinesiology

Is a series of tests that locate weaknesses in specific muscles reflecting imbalances throughout the body. Then specific Chiropractic techniques are used in an attempt to rebalance what has been revealed by the kinesiology tests. Thus, kinesiology is used as both an assessment tool and as a limited therapeutic modality.

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT)

Wedge-shaped blocks are usually placed under the pelvis of the prone patient to treat problems identified in the low back. Low force, slow pressure types of adjustments may also be used to address joint problems identified in the skull. SOT may be used as an exclusive treatment or as an adjunct method of patient management.

Trigger Point Therapy

The primary purpose of trigger point therapy is to reduce the pain that results from hypersensitive muscles. Trigger points are identified by gently pressing on the surface of the skin, sensing the texture of the underlying muscle.

A trigger point is like a knot the size of a pea, buried deep in the muscle tissue. It is made up of lactic acid, a normal byproduct of muscular activity, which sometimes gets trapped in the muscle as a result of physical, chemical or emotional stress.

Dry Needling

Dry needling targets muscle tissue, and its nerve connections, so any conditions where muscle pain or tightness is an issue could potentially benefit.

Spinal & Postural Screenings

Posture and spinal screenings can reveal important health information and unlock the door to improved health and well-being. We provide free screenings in our clinic to children under 16 years old, we believe that your child's spine is just as important.

Corrective Exercises

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
