Our Chiropractic Treatment is recognised by all Major Insurance Companies including both Bupa and Axa PPP. Both these private health insurers have a restricted list of recognised practitioners in each speciality. To become recognised, there are a number of requirements, including being in practice for more than 5 years and having references from medical consultants. We also have to adhere to strict guidelines on quality assurance, patient satisfaction and probity.
If you are thinking of making a claim on your health insurance for chiropractic, then it’s worth checking your policy to see if there is an excess and to check the limit of the cover. You will then need to call your insurer to get a claim number which you can pass on to us. We can claim your fees back from your insurer directly or you can pay us and can claim back the fees yourself.
You may also need to be referred by a GP in order to make a claim. This is usually straight forward and GPs are generally happy to do this.
All our chiropractors at Power Chiropractors, London & Surrey, are BUPA registered providers. Any BUPA member will be able to receive a head start on their chiropractic care by having the first six sessions covered by their private health insurance policy. Please follow the steps below to ensure you comply with BUPA requirements:
BUPA Terms and Conditions
Please note that this is only applicable to BUPA clients with UK membership. BUPA are currently changing their billing procedures. We will now be billing them directly on your behalf for up to 6 sessions. Please be advised that you will not be able to claim anything back from BUPA yourself.
To ensure that we can arrange this for you we require some further information. We also require you to be aware of the following terms of this arrangement:
-We will claim payment for 6 sessions of your care directly from BUPA. You are required to pay Power Chiropractors any shortfalls between the 6 and your coverage.
-After 6 sessions your care will continue at your own expense.
-You will be required to pay any excesses upfront, directly to Power Chiropractors.
-In the event anything is not covered by your insurance, you will be financially liable to meet the out of pocket expense.
-You will be required to monitor the terms of your arrangement and pass on any information to Power Chiropractors as requested.
-BUPA will not cover you for any for any out of pocket expenses, such as x-rays and missed appointment fees. You will be required to pay for these directly.
-Any prepaid credits you have previously made to Power Chiropractors will remain valid on your account for use when your insurance coverage expires.
-By undertaking care with Power Chiropractors, you agree to abide by these terms.
We also remind everyone that while your insurance may cover some of the cost of your care, the terms dictated by your insurer are in no way a replacement for the recommendation of treatment from your spinal specialist.
We appreciate your patience and understanding and apologize for any unforeseen inconvenience that may be caused during this transitional period.
Most health insurance companies will not accept a claim for pre-existing conditions. If you have back pain that comes and goes, it can be difficult for an insurer to assess whether or not this is a pre-existing condition or whether the back problem completely resolves and each presentation is in fact a new episode. If you have any doubts as to which sort of back pain you have then please get in touch as we may be able to help in providing the insurer with accurate information.
Sometimes an insurer will suggest another practitioner in your area. If, however, a practitioner is on your insurers approved list, you can choose to see who you would like.
If Power Chiropractors are claiming on your behalf we require your policy number, any case reference and confirmation of total number of treatments allocated prior to the first consultation.
